New Teen Advisory Board Takes Shape!

We are fortunate in our wonderful village to have a number of great teens and tweens - and several have committed to being on the new Teen Advisory Board.  The TAB in a library helps the director by planning teen events, raising money to decorate the teen area, offering assistance to younger children and the volunteers at the after-school program, and generally taking ownership in their section of the library and working for the good of the community!  Each one is eligible to write down their hours as part of their community service requirement for graduation, just as our Volunteens do!

Now that we have a more defined Teen Area, the teens will be raising funds to decorate their space.  Next Wednesday is the first meeting of the group, so we'll see what they've come up with!

If you have younger children, you may have already noticed the changes in the children's area - the non-fiction has been moved to where Reference was, and Reference has moved to the end of Adult Non-Fiction.

You may also notice the return of some old friends to the children's department!  The little blue and pink tables have been released from their exile at the village shop (Thanks to Luke and Perry!), and have rejoined their friends the books!

Stop by and see the changes and check out a book, dvd, vhs tape or cd!  We're here for and because of you!
